Thanks a Bunch Liz, Jayne and Anna!

Thanks a Bunch Feb 20

This month’s ‘Thanks a Bunch’ was awarded to Liz Roscoe, Jayne McGuiness and Anna Scott from the Community Cardiac Team who saved a patient’s life.

Liz, Jayne and Anna were holding a cardiac rehabilitation class in Kirkstall Leisure Centre when a patient collapsed during the cool down. Their quick actions to manage the other patients and start CPR as quickly as possible all contributed to a text book procedure. The patient and his wife were extremely grateful.

They were nominated by the Community Cardiac Team who said: “As a team we are very proud of their actions. Well done to our amazing three lifesaving musketeers!”

Steph Lawrence, Executive Director of Nursing and Allied Health Professionals, presented them with their flowers and certificates. She said “I want to thank you all for what you did. It’s really hard to be in that situation so well done for your quick response and amazing teamwork which saved the patients life.”

They were very surprised. Speaking on behalf of the team, Liz said: “We come to work every day and don’t know what’s going to happen. Thanks to the rest of the team for their quick thinking and excellent teamwork. We were just doing our job!”

Liz, Jayne and Anna were acknowledged for the Trust behaviours of: Caring for our patients, Working together and Making the best decisions.
