Thank You Event 2022: Colleague of the Year- Joint Winner

Every year we celebrate our amazing staff and their achievements at our pop-up Thank You ceremony. Board members will pop into video meetings to surprise colleagues and present them with a hamper for being shining examples of our magnificent staff behaviours.

Our first award of 2022, the Colleague of the Year award goes to Nova Preston, 0-19 Specialist Public Health Nurse.

Colleague of the Year – Joint Winner

Nova Preston is a 0-19 Specialist Public Health Nurse who has works for Leeds Community Healthcare in the 0-19 Public Health Nursing Team. She works diligently ensuring her caseload receives exceptional care and shows unwavering compassion to patients and her colleagues.

Nova was nominated for Colleague of the Year by Clinical Lead for the Homeless and Health Inclusion Team (HHIT), Rebekah Besford.

Rebekah said: “Nova will never give up trying to get the right support for the families she supports  and consistently goes out of her way to support her colleagues too. She notices when members of the team are struggling and will even take it upon herself to drop off flowers for a colleague when off sick. Nova quietly gives her colleagues the right support at the right time without compromising her work. She is humble and does all of this behind the scenes. I want to say thank you and that her kindness has not gone unnoticed.”

Thea Stein, Chief Executive, and Bryan Machin, Executive Director of Finance and Resources, surprised Nova and thanked her efforts and thoughtfulness. Thea said: “We would have loved to be out there seeing you in person to recognise all of your hard work, but it’s clear your team really values everything that you do. You are excelling in the role that you have and we’re grateful for everything you continue to do for your colleagues and the families that you support.”

Nova said, “Thank you I appreciate it so much, and I'm glad to see the hamper has tea in it!”
